Terms of Service
Last updated: October 22, 2026. These Terms govern lightfoot.cloud, panel.lightfoot.cloud and hosting/report services (“Services”) provided by Daniel Lightfoot, a sole proprietor doing business as Lightfoot Cloud (“Lightfoot”, “we”), Kentucky.
- Acceptance. By creating an account or using the Services you agree to these Terms, the Acceptable Use Policy, the Refund & Billing Policy, and the Privacy Policy. You must be at least 18 (or the age of majority) to open an account. Hosting plans are offered only to customers located in the United States with a US billing address.
- Accounts. Keep your credentials secure; you are responsible for activity under your account. Invited members act on the account owner’s behalf.
- Services. We host and monitor static websites (Site, Site + Care and Site Pro plans) on our infrastructure or AWS, behind Cloudflare, and provide automated site reports. We do not host application servers, databases or Discord bots. Plans have the monthly transfer limits shown in the Refund & Billing Policy. During the beta we accept a limited number of sites. You do not receive shell, database or hosting credentials. Features may change. Custom software builds and managed AWS hosting are offered only under a separate signed Master Services Agreement and Statement of Work; these Terms do not cover them.
- Your content. You keep ownership of content you provide. You grant us a limited license to host, copy, cache, transmit and display it solely to provide the Services. You represent you have the rights to it and that it complies with the AUP and law.
- Site reports. Request reports only for URLs you own or are authorized to test. Reports may contain screenshots and errors from those pages.
- Domains.
- Who is the registrant. When we register a domain for you, Lightfoot Cloud (Daniel Lightfoot, sole proprietor) is the registrant of record, and you are the beneficial user of the domain. We register it through Cloudflare Registrar only after you confirm the price.
- Price and renewal. You pay the registration price shown when you confirm the order. The domain renews each year at the then-current renewal price, which we show in the panel and email to you before it renews. We bill renewals with your plan unless you tell us not to renew.
- Other terms that apply. The Cloudflare Registrar terms and ICANN’s Registrants’ Benefits and Responsibilities also apply to the domain.
- Transfer out. On request, once your account is paid up, we give you the domain’s transfer (auth) code within 5 business days so you can move it to a registrar and account of your own. Transfers are not possible within 60 days after a domain is registered or transferred, or after its registrant details change (ICANN rule), and Cloudflare’s own transfer rules also apply. Some domain endings (for example
.us) have extra requirements. - Closing your account or not paying. If you close your account or your plan ends for non-payment, we offer to transfer the domain to you for at least 30 days before we let it lapse at its expiry date. We never sell a customer’s domain or reuse it for ourselves or anyone else.
- Disputes. Domain name disputes are subject to ICANN’s Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP).
- Fees, renewal and cancellation. Plans are prepaid monthly through Stripe and renew automatically at the then-current price until you cancel. You can cancel online at any time in Billing; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period. We give at least 30 days’ notice of any price increase. Refunds, credits, failed payments, suspension (day 8) and deletion (day 38) are governed by the Refund & Billing Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under applicable consumer law. Paid plans are available only to people aged 18 or over.
- Suspension and termination. We may suspend or terminate for AUP violations, legal requirements or risk to our systems, with notice where practical. For non-payment we follow the schedule in the Refund & Billing Policy: a 7-day grace period with reminders, suspension on day 8, restoration if you pay before deletion, and deletion on day 38 after a final warning email. After you cancel, your site stays online until the end of the paid period and is deleted 30 days later. You may download your site before deletion.
- Availability. Uptime commitments, if any, are only those in the SLA. Otherwise the Services are best-effort.
- Disclaimer. THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
- Limitation of liability. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LIGHTFOOT WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOST PROFITS, DATA OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.
- Indemnity. You will defend and indemnify Lightfoot against third-party claims arising from your content or your violation of these Terms.
- Copyright complaints. See the DMCA & Abuse Policy.
- Governing law. Kentucky law; exclusive venue in the state or federal courts for Boone County, Kentucky.
- Changes. We will post changes here and email account holders of material changes at least 14 days before they apply.
